Bittersweet 12

Sho mshklti?
I've never had doubts about my decisions. I'm a very straight forward person. I make up my mind,
I don’t change it.
Up until now.
Now is when I actually realized that I'M GETTING MARRIED. And I'm still in HIGHSCHOOL.
For the first time, I didn’t know what to do!

I looked at Mayed who was sitting next to me, driving.

"Wain tbain tseereen?" He smiled.
"Aren’t you supposed to take me home?" I asked, confused.
"There's nothing wrong with a little after school lunch." He chuckled. I guess he's right. He is my
fiancé after all.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You think I'm going to tell you?" He winked. Ya rabi a7een bysaweely surprise.

Bzzz Bzzz! Bzz Bzzz!

My phone vibrated.

Incoming Call
 >> 79oOh <<

I just stared at the screen.

"Aren't you going to get that?" He pointed to my phone.
"Naah not right now." I smiled, and tossed my phone into my bag.

About 5 minutes later he asked me to close my eyes.

"Chathaba tchoofeen!" He laughed and covered my eyes with one hand while he steered with
the other.
"MAYED!!" I yelled through my giggles.
"Don't worry, you're safe with me."

After Mayed parked his car, and we got out, he still wouldn't let me look. He covered my eyes
with his huge hands as he carefully guided me to the entrance of the restaurant.
My eyes were still covered when I heard;

"Table for Mayed, party of two." I heard him say. He reserved a table ba3aad! Awww how
sweet!
I heard people giggling as we made our way through the restaurant. Shu nawii eysawi hatha?

I finally sat down and opened my eyes. First I looked around, then smiled at Mayed who was
sitting across from me.
Mayed 7a'6rata took me to an Italian restaurant in Bur Dubai called Medzo. Give me one
person in this world who doesn’t like Italian food?
This, I can enjoy.

"Shu rayech?" He asked in the middle of our meal.
"Mashkoor wallah Mayed, this is so sweet of you." Awani 3ad.
"Haih mnu yroom yda3lch mthly!" He said proudly.

After what seemed like the best lunch ever, Mayed escorted me outside. He's such a
gentleman he even opened the door for me. As soon as I
stepped outside, I wish I had never come.

Walking towards the door were Rashid and Salama. They were holding hands. Tightly. She
was wearing the cutest yellow dress, and her makeup and hair was all done perfectly.
She was walking towards me wearing the hottest pair of red heels, when Rashid spotted me,
and quickly let go of her hand.

Rashid stopped.

I turned around to look for Mayed, when I found him still thanking the staff and waiters for the
meal. Yallah 3anaboo mb thanks hatha!
Rashid and Salama were still walking. Hopefully we'd leave before they'd stop!
That didn’t turn out as I hoped. Rashid stood exactly in front of me. What the hell! Mayed is
going to come out any second now! But he didn’t move. He just stood there.

"You need to leave." I whispered, looking up into his eyes.
"And if I don’t?" He smirked. Oh my gosh!
I can't look at him! I don’t know what he does to me but I don’t like it! I lowered my eyes to what
was straight in front of me. His abs! Oh gosh! Why
does he have to wear a tight shirt ya3ni? I can't do this right now!

I stepped back. That was stupid. Because you can't see what's behind you, and you never know
if you're going to trip on some steps or something
because you could. And I did.

I let out a small shriek and closed my eyes in fear of what would happen. In a flash, Rashid slid
one arm behind my back, and caught me before I fell.
I opened my eyes to find him looking straight into them.
My heart was beating so fast I couldn’t move. I couldn’t even stand up straight. He was still
holding me. I was breathing heavily in his arms and he could feel it. His worried eyes got wider,
and he straightened me until I stood upright. He left me standing there, confused, as he walked
into the restaurant, Salama trotting behind him.

Mayed walked out just as they walk in. Thank god he didn’t see any of that drama!

"Yallah enseer?" He smiled at me as he took out his car keys. He put his arm around me as
we walked to the car. I looked over my shoulder. Just a5r na'6ra. Rashid had already been
seated at a table near the window. As I expected, still staring. But not the awkward kind of stare.
The stare where you know something's on his mind. The stare that shows that he's in pain.

7aram.

Wallah shakla yga63 el galb. I was so confused! Shu mshkltii I didn’t do anything! Ya rabi shu
hal 7ala! I hopped into the car extremely confused and worried. I looked at Mayed next to me
who was Shaag el 7aalj ow far7an. Mskeen.

Mayadri bel dnya.
